Both the stator and rotor are constructed as flat disc structures utilizing axial air gap magnetic flux. They are alternately arranged along the axial direction, which optimizes the magnetic interaction between the components. Due to the generator's short axial length combined with a large diameter, it is well-suited for creating a multi-pole structure. This results in a high power-to-mass ratio and allows for low-speed operation with a reduced wind speed startup threshold.
